Class 10th board exams may come back – States suggest the government

The HRD ministry had a full day discussion with states on the formulation of new education policy. The states gave an overwhelming response to bring back class 10th board exams in CBSE schools and let go of no-detention policy till class 8th.

Their main concern was that they don’t fail students till class 8th and its difficult for students to pass class 9th. This consultation was attended by 2.5 lakh gram sabhas, 620 districts and 66000 blocks. States like Nagaland also raised issues of paucity of Hindi teachers in the system. This is one of the biggest steps in education policy after Radhakrishnan Commission of 1948, Kothari Commission of 1964 and Education Policy of 1986. It is though great to see that every citizen is being given a chance to express their views in the formulation of a new education policy.

I am not sure whether class 10th board exams should be brought back and should cbse schools push this. They cause immense pressure on children as well as parents regarding competition and results in cbse and other state boards. Education should be an enabler for students in their future.

Class 10th board exams if again brought back will not be fruitful for imparting education and the system as a whole. I am pretty sure that kids definitely don’t want to have board exams.

What is your stance on this ?

Should class 10th board exams be brought back in CBSE schools?

Should students till class 8th be also detained ?

CBSE summons principals regarding a tough maths paper

It is conflicting to see how CBSE is on one hand pushing for de-stress by implementing CCE but on the other hand making tough papers. This year’s mathematics paper for Class 12 has been described as one of the toughest in a decade. Keeping this in view, CBSE has called various principals to discuss the matter. The issue was also raised by Congress MP K V Thomas in zero hour of Lok Sabha which further stresses on importance of this topic.

However, various options are being worked out like having a lenient view by teachers on the solutions or having an improvement exam for Class 12 students. The first one though add some relief to all the students. The second one may seem to be a tough call as it may affect dates of entrance exams for a lot of students.

Having said this we definitely look forward to relatively easier papers for board exams from CBSE so that no additional stress is mounted on students.

Ncertsolutionsmaths wishes all class 12 students best of luck for their exam results and future endeavors.
